1200°C Debinding & Pre-Sintering Atmosphere Furnace With Cold Trap

The GCF-DS 1200 Series is designed to perform binder burnout and pre-sintering in one continuous, uninterrupted cycle.

The furnace chamber is constructed from high-purity alumina and heated from five sides—front, back, left, right, and bottom. Each heating zone operates on an independent control loop with its own Type S thermocouple, providing precise temperature control and excellent thermal uniformity. A double-walled steel housing reduces heat loss to the exterior, while the sealed inner shell allows the chamber to be purged with protective gas.

Heating elements are installed inside corundum sheath tubes rather than being exposed directly to the furnace lining. This design prevents binder off-gases from contacting the heating wire and allows individual elements to be replaced without disturbing the chamber. Additional perforated corundum tubes distribute atmosphere gas evenly throughout the working area.

Furnace operation is managed through a touchscreen HMI featuring a 30-segment programmable PID controller, USB data export, and power-failure recovery. If power is interrupted, the controller resumes the program based on the furnace’s actual temperature rather than restarting the heating ramp from ambient.

Low-Temperature Stage
Forced hot-air circulation maintains a uniform temperature field during binder burnout, helping prevent localized hot spots that can crack or damage green bodies.

High-Temperature Stage
Five-sided radiant heating provides the temperature uniformity required for consistent pre-firing and sintering performance.

Handling the Off-Gas

Binder off-gas can be flammable and should not be discharged untreated.

Cold Trap
The cold trap can be charged with dry ice, an ice-water mixture, or liquid nitrogen. Binder vapor condenses on the inner wall for clean collection while helping prevent vapor from reaching the vacuum pump. Custom trap sizes are available upon request.

Exhaust Ignitor
The exhaust ignitor burns off flammable gases at the outlet. A flame monitor confirms successful ignition and illuminates the green indicator lamp. If ignition fails, the system sounds an alarm, illuminates the yellow indicator lamp, and automatically closes the inlet solenoid valve.
