Ultrasonic liquid processors (a.k.a. sonicators, ultrasonic homogenizers) are frequently utilized in shared work spaces. The noise emitted by these devices, however, can cause significant discomfort and must be mitigated. This noise-reduction enclosure brings the noise down to a comfortable level that is in compliance with the U.S. and European regulations and allows for a clear 270-degree view of the enclosed equipment. The enclosure is small enough to move around, yet sufficiently large to provide convenient access to the equipment and work product.

Benefits

  • Significant noise reduction (by ~30 dB) for a safe and comfortable working environment
  • Optimized and validated with SPLnFFT software (approved by the NIOSH)
  • Attractive design with easy access
  • 270-degree view of the enclosed equipment and work product
  • Quick installation (arrives mostly pre-assembled)
  • Easy cleaning
  • Cost-effective
  • Light and compact frame for easy transportation
  • Adapted for both batch and flow-through equipment configurations
  • Fits all ISM ultrasonic processors (laboratorybench and industrial)
  • Customizable to fit other types of equipment (third-party sonicators, homogenizers, mixers, pumps, etc.)

FAQs

Q1. Do I need to have a sound enclosure in order to use an ultrasonic processor?

No, but you do need adequate ear protection. Noise-reduction ear muffs are the alternative. They are available for purchase here.

Q2. Does this noise reduction enclosure fit other ultrasonic processors, not manufactured by ISM?

Yes, just select Other Type of Equipment from the list of options and email us ([email protected]) the make and model information for your device so we can make the necessary adaptations.

Q3. How noisy are ultrasonic processors?

Ultrasonic processors typically produce noise levels slightly above 100 dBA. For more details, please see the following article:

How Loud is Your Ultrasonic Processor?

Q4. How much noise reduction can I expect with this product?

You can expect ~30 dB of noise reduction, which, in most cases, brings the level well into compliance with the U.S. and European occupational noise regulations for an 8-hour work shift.
